Celtic Crosses predate Christianity and can be found throughout Ireland and Scotland. In pagan times the circle of the Celtic Cross represented the Sun, being the center of their lives. It was not until the 4th century AD the Celtic Cross was used by early Christians to represent Christian beliefs in the Celtic world. During the great conversion of many pagans to Christianity, the Celtic Cross was used to represent the marriage of Pagan beliefs and Christianity.
