The Book of Kells contains lavishly decorated copy of the Four Gospels. Probably produced on the Isle of Iona on the West Coast of Scotland, and partially at Kells in Co. Meath, Ireland where it was moved for safekeeping following Viking raids. In 1653 it was moved to it’s current location at Trinity College Dublin.
